Magrit Baurecht    photography Magrit Baurecht was trained as an architect in her native Austria, and as a graphic designer in Seattle. She practices design and photography in Edmonds, Washington. Artist Statement Looking through a camera gives me the focus to be fully present to what appears in my field of vision moment by moment. It also allows for an appreciation and attention to details that might otherwise have been overlooked. To me, the search for an images, which can involve many hours of walking and looking, is almost as exciting as the discovery. I mostly feel drawn to colorful architectural details that either represent the essence and the flavor of an environment, or tell their own story unrelated to the whole. Even familiar environments can become magical and surprising when one takes a closer look.
